On September 30, 2025, students in Phases A & B of SD Kristen Calvin embarked on an educational adventure to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) as part of an educational trip themed “Learning to Conserve Natural Resources.”
🐦 The Phase A students explored Taman Burung and the Freshwater Museum, observing a variety of birds, fish, and freshwater animals—the remarkable richness of God’s creation.
The activity was complemented by a Buddy System, in which Grade 1 students were paired with Grade 2 students. They learned and worked together, with Grade 2 students helping explain animal habitats, while Grade 1 students shared their knowledge of the different types of animals they had learned about in class.
🦎 The Phase B students visited Taman Burung and the Komodo Museum, learning firsthand about Indonesia’s biodiversity—from exotic birds found across different regions to rare wildlife such as the Komodo dragon.
Through observation and discussion, the students practiced critical thinking and collaboration while learning the importance of conservation efforts to preserve God’s creation.
🌏✨ Through this experience, the students developed a deeper sense of wonder and gratitude toward God, the Creator, who has filled the land of Indonesia with such beauty and diversity in His creation.
The children learned that caring for nature is a calling of faith, expressed through tangible actions to responsibly care for God’s creation.🌱💚
