Exploring world cultures provides students with an opportunity to learn to appreciate diversity. Through the Intercultural Festival 2026: Celebrating the World, students of SMP Kristen Calvin explored the cultures of various countries, including India, South Korea, Japan, Egypt, Spain, Germany, and China.
The event also formed part of the National Batik Day celebration, honoring Indonesian batik, which has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Through various interclass competitions, including fashion shows, storytelling, drawing, cooking, and classroom decoration, students had the opportunity to develop their creativity and showcase their talents. The atmosphere became even livelier with class bazaars and the participation of parents.
May this event encourage students to continue growing in creativity and confidence, while deepening their appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia and other nations.
Soli Deo Gloria!
