What did they learn?
🔍 Unveiling the Meaning Behind Western Paintings:
1. Cain Flying Before Jehovah’s Curse – Fernand Cormon, depicting the dramatic journey of Cain after receiving his curse.
2. The Heavenly and Earthly Trinities – Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, where they discovered hidden triangular lines in the painting’s composition.
3. The Creation of Adam – Michelangelo, showcasing God’s greatness in creating mankind with astonishing detail.
🐉🔥 Exploring Mythology and Symbolism in Chinese Art:
🐉 Dragon – a symbol of power and longevity, inspired by reptiles, carp scales, and other elements.
🔥 Phoenix – a symbol of wisdom and elegance, with a body featuring a parrot’s beak, a crane’s legs, a peacock’s tail, and other beautiful bird features.
🦁 Pixiu – a fortune-bringing creature resembling a lion with dragon-like elements.
They also learned the symbolic meanings behind paintings on large plates often given as special gifts:
🍑 Peach fruit – longevity.
🌸 Peony flower – representing beauty, grace, and honor.
🦆 Mandarin ducks – a symbol of loyalty.
🎨 The Excitement of Creative Activities!
As part of this interactive experience, students placed colorful plastic pieces on a clear acrylic board, creating their own artwork. Additionally, they received an activity book to read and complete at home—bringing knowledge and fun from Galeria Sophilia with them!
Through this journey, children not only learned about the beauty of art but also discovered the stories and philosophies behind it. A meaningful experience that enriches their knowledge and sparks their imagination! 🌏💡✨
