Two students from SMP Kristen Calvin, Cherie Alice Lucia (Kelas VII A) and Olivia Chieko Elisy (Kelas VII B), showed incredible fighting spirit at The Premier 2025 "TIMELESS MEMORIES", an annual inter-school competition hosted by SPK Penabur International Kelapa Gading in Jakarta.
In the bronze medal match for Girls' Doubles, Cherie and Olivia faced an intense battle. They were trailing 16-20 in the second set, but in a thrilling comeback, they turned the game around and secured victory with a final score of 22-20—a truly remarkable feat!
Their journey ended in the semifinals against the host team. While they didn’t claim the championship title, their exceptional perseverance and strong competitive mindset left a lasting impression. 💪🏼🔥
The tournament, held over three days (February 12, 13 & 18, 2025), tested the endurance and consistency of all participants. Out of 32 competitors, Cherie and Olivia faced 8 pairs in the Girls' Doubles category.
Both players have been active in the school's badminton extracurricular program since elementary school. According to Ms. Cristine Marito, PE teacher and badminton coach at Calvin Christian School, their performance continues to improve thanks to consistent training—even outside regular practice hours. Despite an early loss in their first match, they bounced back with an impressive result—a testament to their determination and God's grace!
A journey filled with challenges, but also one of gratitude for God's guidance and blessings.
Congratulations on this incredible achievement, Cherie and Olivia! 🎉🏅 Keep training and growing to achieve even greater success! 💪🏼🔥
Soli Deo Gloria 🙏🏼
