John Wilson, a student of Grade XI-1 at Sekolah Kristen Calvin, has demonstrated incredible enthusiasm and achievement at the beginning of his journey in academic competitions. Although this was his first experience, John immediately earned recognition at the national level in three different subject areas.
In the National Science Competition organized by Puskanas.id, John competed in both Sociology and Mathematics. He was required to analyze social theories, understand various forms of conflict, and tackle complex case studies. In the Mathematics section, he faced challenging problems that almost made him feel defeatedβbut through perseverance, he successfully overcame them.
In addition, John also participated in the Indonesian Olympiad of Science by Presmanesia in the field of English, which tested his skills in language analysis and grammatical structure (parts of speech). All competitions were held online from Yogyakarta, with more than 1,000 high school participants from across Indonesia in each field.
Currently, John is in the process of joining an international philosophy competition held in the UK. His wide-ranging academic interests stem from a belief he holds firmly: that every discipline reflects the beauty and majesty of God's work.
"Every subject has its own beautyβthey all reveal how magnificent God's creation is."
Johnβs journey is a powerful reminder that learning is not merely about numbers or theories, but a calling to know and glorify God through a renewed mind.
Soli Deo Gloria.
