Learning does not take place only in the classroom; valuable lessons can also be gained through firsthand experiences beyond the school grounds. From April 21–24, 2026, the eighth-grade students of Calvin Christian School went on an educational trip to Solo and Yogyakarta as part of a contextual learning experience designed to broaden their knowledge and perspectives.

Through this experience, the students had the opportunity to learn firsthand about art, culture, history, and local wisdom through the various places they visited, including Rumah Atsiri Indonesia, Museum Batik Danar Hadi, Prambanan Temple, the Ramayana Ballet, Pentingsari Tourism Village, Ullen Sentalu Museum, Bukit Rhema (Gereja ayam), Borobudur Temple, the Yogyakarta Palace, the Yogyakarta Palace Railway Museum, Taman Sari, and the Malioboro area.

Every journey became an opportunity for the students to discover Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage up close, understand the historical values of the nation, and cultivate a deeper sense of gratitude and love for their homeland.

Through this experience, may the students grow to appreciate the nation’s cultural heritage, broaden their knowledge and perspectives, and be equipped to become a generation that contributes and builds the nation for the glory of God.

Soli Deo Gloria
