Students of SMP Kristen Calvin visited Hutan Kota Kemayoran as part of their Scout activity on March 6, 2026. Although accompanied by light rain, they were still able to enjoy the refreshing, lush, and vibrant atmosphere of the urban forest.
During the visit, students learned firsthand how an urban forest is managed to maintain the balance of nature. They joined a forest tour, visited the flood control pump house, explored the wastewater treatment facility that helps purify water to preserve the lives of aquatic animals and birds, observed waste management practices, and visited the Philodendron nursery where various ornamental plants are cared for and cultivated.
The rain that day seemed to serve as a reminder that nature is a gift that must be protected. May this experience nurture not only knowledge, but also a growing care within the hearts of the students to steward the environment well. 🌱
